The Oldest Celestial Dragon – Bound by Magic

Today I want to introduce you to Anjaom from The Dragon Kings of Broken Light.

He’s one of the oldest Celestial Dragons in the story — and the one character whose greatest battle isn’t fought with fire or claws.

It’s fought in silence.

An ancient law forbids him from telling the woman he loves who she truly is, so every scene with him became an exercise in restraint: what he can hint, what he can question, what he can almost say. He could hint. He could question. He could suggest. He could not tell.

Five hundred years of waiting will do things to a person — even one who isn’t quite a person anymore. Writing Anjaom meant writing devotion that has nowhere to go, and I found that harder, and more moving, than I expected.
